July 2019 Private Secondary School Human Resource Officer Job in Nairobi Kenya

Our Client, a private secondary school, located in Nairobi County is seeking to hire a highly competent, committed and motivated individual on permanent and pensionable terms as a Human Resource Officer.

Reports to: Restaurant Manager

Role Objective: The Human Resource Officer will be responsible for organizational analysis and design, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance appraisal, career and succession planning, and management of employee relations within the School.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling on policies and procedures
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Create and implement effective on boarding plans
  • Develop training and development programs
  • Assist in performance management processes
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
  • Developing and implementing human resource management and development strategies, policies and procedures;
  • Developing and managing career progression and succession plans;
  • Developing and managing staff compensation and rewards systems;
  • Coordinating staff performance appraisals;
  • Managing staff recruitment and placement;
  • Managing Payroll Maintaining employee records;
  • Managing all administrative matters in the school
  • Coordinating health and safety issues including security of all assets in the school
  • Facilitation of statutory requirements to be met by staff
  • Coordinating all transport logistics
  • Assets Management
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Create and implement effective on boarding plans

Qualifications

  • Have Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
  • Be a registered Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management;
  • Have at least three (3) years’ relevant work experience;
  • Have proficiency in computer application skills; and
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
  • Must be decisive with attention to details and proactive
